We develop this activity for you to foster interaction and strength our community.
HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!
THE MISSION
In 2026, researchers from around the world gather in Porto for the 14th edition of the TEEM Conference.
Along the several editions of TEEM, the Nexus Ecosystem secret projects initiatives promise to revolutionize the way humans, technology, and culture interact.
Unfortunately, a group of researchers from the Nexus Ecosystem has mysteriously disappeared.
Your mission is to follow the clues they left behind, solve the puzzles, and uncover what happened to the researchers.
Throughout this adventure, you will need to put your observation skills, logical reasoning, and creativity to the test – and, above all, work together as a team.
THE TEAM
- Gather a Team of at least 5 participants, including 1 Team Leader and at least 4 additional members.
- Please register your Team on the ESCAPADE Platform.
- The Team Leader is responsible for registering the team, coordinating its members, and communicating with the organizing committee.
- Each participant may belong to one team only.
- Once your Team has registered, the Team Leader will receive approval and access password from the organizing committee.
- Use the login credentials provided by the organizing committee to access the ESCAPADE platform.
- Case Files will be released at the end of each time slot of parallel sessions.
- All answers must be submitted exclusively through the ESCAPADE platform.
THE CASE FILES
- Challenges (Case Files) may involve images, maps, audio files, historical information, logical reasoning, or other types of clues.
- Read the instructions carefully, before attempting to solve it.
- If you feel stuck, you may use the help of two hints.
- Every team member is encouraged to contribute their knowledge, experience, and unique perspective.
THE SCORE
- Each puzzle is worth a maximum of 100 points. With six puzzles in total, the maximum possible competition score is 600 points.
- Each incorrect answer attempt results in a deduction of 5 points from the score for that puzzle.
- Each hint used (Hint) results in a deduction of 20 points from the score for that puzzle.
- Penalties are cumulative. The score for each puzzle is calculated by subtracting the penalties for incorrect answers and hints used from the initial score of 100 points. The minimum score for each puzzle is 0 points; scores can never be negative.
- The score for a puzzle is finalized when the correct answer is submitted. The final score is the number of points remaining at that moment.
- Teams can check their scores for individual puzzles and their overall performance at any time through the Investigation and Progress sections of the ESCAPADE platform.
- The Progress section displays the total score, number of puzzles solved, incorrect answer attempts, hints used, and the team’s progress throughout the investigation.
- The overall ranking is determined by the total score accumulated across all six puzzles.
- In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking criteria established by the organizing committee will apply.
- The final rankings will be announced during the Closing Session on Friday.
ARE YOU READY TO UNCOVER THE MYSTERY?
